FAQ: How do I point my domain name to the PrimeSite System?
This entry was posted on Thursday, August 02, 2007 10:52:00 AM and is filed under PrimeSite Technical Support.
PrimeSite can now accept domain names from any registrar. You will simply need to point your "www" or A Record to the appropriate server IP address.
Here are the steps if your registrar is GoDaddy, or any number of GoDaddy authorized resellers (domain sites with "secureserver.net" in the URL):
1. Log into your account by selecting "My Account" from your registrar.
2. Choose "Manage Domains" from the "My Products" box
3. Click the name of the domain to change the settings of this domain
4. From the Details view, choose "Total DNS Control and MX Records"
5. Click the pencil "Edit" button to the right of the "www" entry under the "CNAMES (Aliases)" box (If it asks if you are sure, click OK)
6. Enter 64.202.163.36 into the field "Points To Host Name" (replacing "@"). Click OK. You are done.
We'll update this post as different registrars are stepped through by clients...
