Giving clients the ability to create and manage their own website can sometimes lead to some unexpected results. PrimeSite would like to offer these tips for creating an effective and attractive website that will avoid turning away your visitors:

1. Use as few fonts as possible. Try and keep the typefaces consistent. If you use a serif font such as Times on one line, keep the next font a serif font such as Book Antiqua for consistency.

2. Use as few colors as possible. Try and keep your colors coordinated, too. Just because you have nearly every color of the rainbow available, that doesn't mean you have to use them!

3. Your images should be OPTIMIZED for your website. That means it should be prepared for placement in your pages at 100% and for 72DPI resolution, which is screen resolution. If you need to scale your image down after placing it on the page, it is too large - resize it! You do have the ability to scale an image down on the page with the content editing tools, but why force your visitors to download a file that's bigger than it SHOULD be!

Bottom line is be sparing with your open choices on the PrimeSite system. Review others' websites and see what you like - what looks good. Use that as a pattern for your own site.
